• Cashmere is nature’s finest insulation fibre. A sustainable, renewable, biodegradable natural fibre with excellent performance characteristics it is ideally suited for both active and leisure wear: lightweight, breathable, odour resistant and very soft to touch.

  • As a natural wool, cashmere is hydrophobic (can repel water), flame resistant and can absorb UV radiation –  an insulation layer that provides warmth in cold conditions but can also keep you cool in warmer conditions.

  • Dhu P E R F O R M A N C E  C A S H M E R E ® clothing is constructed using the finest quality cashmere yarn from Inner Mongolia. The lightweight yarn allows us to design garments which provide an excellent warmth to weight ratio, but without the bulk. During activity cashmere fibre offers both comfort and a range of movement unmatched by synthetic materials or heavier woollens. By focusing on lightweight design, garments can be easily packed down for carrying on the move, in a rucksack, or during travel and storage.

  • At approximately 15 microns in diameter (15/1000mm), cashmere is finer and – because of the scale structure of the cashmere fibres – softer than lambswool, yak wool, camelhair or merino wool.

  • As an insulation layer, cashmere provides and retains warmth in cold conditions, trapping air against your skin within the garment fibres, which the body then heats up. Cashmere, as with merino, is a breathable fibre – so when the body produces more heat than the garment fibres can hold, in turn creating moisture, this is released as vapour and through the movement of air around both the body and garment this vapour is transported away from the body. Cashmere fibre will work with your body in differing conditions.
